Pets are family and they deserve to be documented. When we first started pet photography we would ask families if they would like to bring their pets. We would get a lot of replies: “We can do that?” or “I had no idea that was an option?”. Our answer was, and always will be absolutely, yes! Family units are made up of beings that enrich our lives and make us happy, and pets are one of those beings. We often hear: “My dog is too crazy and would never sit still.” This is something that we know and expect from most dogs. We have dogs, we work with dogs, we live and breathe dogs. We have learned to be very patient and take it one dog at a time. We expect your pet to be themselves and we will work with them to get a photo that represents their personality, plus we always have treats.
Pets are an integral part of many people’s lives and add deep meaning and value to their families. Pets can be our best friends; a member of the family and the annoying siblings or children we never knew we needed. We chose pet photography because we wanted to capture the unique personalities of pets, the cherished moments between them and their owner, and to draw attention to the bond that exists between them. We wanted to ensure the memory of our pets lives on forever. Whether it's a dog, cat, horse, or snake, highlighting the emotional connection and joy pets bring into our lives is always worth it.
Working with animals is something that Rebecca and I are naturally good at and something we are passionate about. We put time and dedication into what we do to ensure we are educated and know how to handle ourselves around dogs and pets with many different needs and temperaments. We want pet lovers to be able to include their pets in their family photos. Working with animals reveals the rich tapestry of their personalities that we seek to capture on camera. Every creature exhibits unique traits that show their worth, value and soul. Observing their interactions, quirks, and comfort levels allows for a deeper understanding of their individuality and that is what we hope to capture in our photography.
