Any pet is a commitment to care for and protect. Their life is entirely dependent on you. Having a foster home in which to give birth, learn to care for the puppies, and recover can be a true life saving resource. Those foster families can be difficult to find. Signing up for one dog is a big commitment, imagine having one mom dog and fourteen puppies like this litter! Planned Pethood foster, Heather, shares some of her insight from opening her home to these families in need.
Leroy is one of those dogs who survived hell and yet maintained an adoration of all people, a love of companionship form other dogs, and the ability to positively represent his breed and rescue dogs everywhere.
“There was a summer I spent at the hospital volunteering 8 hours a day while my mom was working there as a nurse. I had spent a lot of time on the floors, making hourly rounds on the patients and asking if they felt comfortable or if there was anything I could get for them. I had a lot of free time, so I would spend it talking to the patients on the floor. I realized that I really enjoyed just talking to and getting to know them. When they had questions about their care, I wanted to be able to explain what was going on and how it impacted their health.”

As I peruse many websites for local businesses and services, I am disappointed at how many do not include the faces of their staff, owners or management. Putting real faces with your brand’s name helps to convey a sense of trustworthiness and responsibility to potential clients.

Honestly, I had no idea what working with a snake would look like. I assumed that I would just let Spooky do her thing and we would hope for the best. She did not disappoint. Nicole was so gentle with Spooky, directing her but never forcing her to do anything she did not want to do. My priority when shooting with animals is to make sure they are treated with respect, in an ethical manner. Spooky's comfort and safety was more important to both of us, than having a successful shoot.
